Morecambe

Port Vale's away record has taken a dip in form of late, their 1-0 defeat at Morecambe on Saturday was only their fourth defeat all season but looks to have put the side's play-off hopes well and truly to bed.
Morecambe took the lead via Phil Jevons on the 18th minute, after the ball had pinged around the Vale box.
Vale defender John McCombe came the closest to providing an equaliser, his sublime over-head kick was ruled out for offside.

Morecambe

Port Vale travel to Morecambe this weekend in search of another away win. The last time the Valiants hit the seaside they secured a 2-1 over Torquay and will be looking to repeat that winning formula.
Captain Tommy Fraser serves his first game of a two match suspension for picking up 10 bookings so far this season.
While Anthony Griffith returns from his suspension for the same offence.
Defender Adam Yates returns to the club he signed from over the summer and no doubt Morecambe fans and players will know what to expect.
Goalkeepr Joe Anyon looks to take his place between the sticks following the 4-0 home win over Lincoln on Tuesday.
Rob Taylor and Craig Davies will hope they showed enough in that game to also keep their places having both found themselves on the score sheet.
Marc Richards was unlucky to find himself amongst the goals on Tuesday but will look to make up for that on the coast.

Brammer vs Adams

Port Vale boss has hit back at former Vale midfielder Dave Branner following his commnents on local radio following the Barnet game.
Summarising for BBC Radio Stoke Brammer was less than complimentary about Vale's performance and singled out a number of players for criticism, a number of complaints have been made.
Here is what Adams has to say on the matter.

Lincoln

Port Vale goalkeeper Joe Anyon marked his return to the side following a 12 month due to injury with a clean sheet in their 4-0 home win against Lincoln.
Vale took the lead after just 25 seconds when Imps defender Ian Pearce slotted the ball past his own stranded keeper and into the net.
Rob Taylor was next on the score sheet after finding himself on the end of Tommy Fraser's pass.
Marc Richards missed his chance to make it 3-0 within ten minutes after he missed from the penalty spot after a Pearce handball.
Craig Davies converted Lewis Haldane's cross to make it 3-0 after 15 minutes and the Vale crowd had to wait unitl the second half before John McCombe sent a fourth into the net.
Youngsters Sam Morsy and Anthony Malbon were given first team debuts on a frosty evening at Vale Park where only 3,231 fans got to witness the Valiants first in nearly a month.

Lincoln

Port Vale take on Lincoln at home tomorrow evening in search of a home win. The Valiants have lost their last two games on home soil, putting their play-off hopes well and truly on ice.
Micky Adams will remain without midfielder Anthony Griffith for the game, who serves his last of a two match suspension for picking up 10 bookings so far this season. His midfield partner and house-mate Tommy Fraser will also have to be on his guard as one more booking for the flame haired captain will see him suspended also. This will only add fuel to the fire of the barrage of jeers he has received from the Vale crowd of late.
The Valiants will be looking to re-capture the form they had at Sincil Bank in December where Marc Richards found himself on the score sheet alongside Louis Dodds, who hasn't found the net since that game.
Goalkeeper Chris Martin will be hoping not to repeat the howler that saw him drop the ball into his own net.
The Imps sit 19th in League Two seven points and four places behind the Valiants. Their last result was a 2-2 draw with lowly Grimsby.
Lincoln boss Chris Sutton will be without defender Adam Watts who suffered a broken leg in the derby with Grimsby at the weekend.

It'll be the same cold weather tomorrow as it was back when these two sides met back in December, the Valiants will also be hoping it's the same score-line.

Strong words from Geoff Horsefield

Port Vale assistant manager Geoff Horsefield had some strong words for the squad of players following their 2-0 home defeat to Barnet.

Barnet

For the Valiants it was a must win game to ensure their play off dream was kept smouldering in the shadows.
For Barnet it was a must win game to pick up points having only won one out of the last 17 games.
Micky Adams' side look to have had their dream put well and truly on ice following an frosty performance at Vale Park.
Midfielder Anthony Griffith was missing due to suspension having picked up ten bookings this season while Gareth Owen, returning from injury replaced John McCombe.
Barnet took the lead after six minutes, defender Kris Taylor was wrong footed allowing Barnet top scorer John O'Flynn to fire home.
The Valiants offered little much of a come back and it wasn't until the 84th minute that O'Flynn found the net again to send the 92 travelling supporters home happy.

Love is in the air

It certainly was for Vale forwards Marc Richards and Lewis Haldane this weekend. The pair both scored in Vale's 2-1 win over Torquay and celebrated by sharing a smooch on the field, in keeping with the Valentines Day atmosphere.
However, Haldane was the butt of the team jokes having had his girlfriend's name tattooed on his body as a dedication of his love.
Defender Kris Taylor told The Sentinel "It makes you want to throw up doesn't it?"

Vale youngster out on-loan

Port Vale's young goalkeeper Daniel Lloyd Weston has joined Nantwich Town on a month's loan.
The 19 year-old has yet to make a first team appearance for the Valiants but was picked out for a trial by Manchester United earlier in the season.
He follows Northern Ireland international striker James Lawrie, who joined Kiddiminister Harriers on-loan at the end of last week

Vale Trio make team of the week

Port Vale's form this season is finally picking up the plaudits after three of the club's players were named in the Football League's League Two Team of the Week after their 2-1 win over Torquay at the weekend.
Forwards Lewis Haldane and Marc Richards were both on the score sheet, while Tommy Fraser was nominated for his performance as the midfield maestro, despite being the victim of the boo boys from the Vale crowd.
They join defenders Adam Yates and Lee Collins who also found themselves in the team of the week this season.

Supporters Club News

The Supporters Club met for the first time in a number of months on Monday evening to discuss latest goings on at the club.

There was a varied agenda and a letter will now be submitted to the club outlining the points and issues raised that recquire a response from the club. These issues will be discussed, fingers crossed, at the next board meeting in the next few weeks as pointed out by director Mike Lloyd who attended the meeting.

He gave a good account of himself after some fans had become disillusioned following the club's AGM back in December.
He was keen to interact with fans, answered every question he possibly could and even gaguged fans opinions.

But perhaps the most positive of news to come out of the meeting was the supporters club has raised £22,000 over the last 12 months via donations and bucket collections, with that money going towards the completion of the Sproson Statue which is to be unveiled at Vale Park at some point in the near future.

The SC will know wait for the reply to their letter and the outcomes will be discussed at the next meeting on Monday March 1st at The Leopard, Burslem with a
7:30pm start

Craig Davies

On-loan Brighton forward Craig Davies will now be staying at Port Vale until the end of the season.
He had initally signed on a month's loan but has impressed in his opening games and notched his first goal for the Valiants at home to Hereford on Saturday.
He is well known by Vale boss Micky Adams who was in charge at Brighton last season.

Congratulations Lee Collins

The Port Vale defender has been voted into the Football League's League Two team of the week.
His unselfish run helped Vale notch a 2-0 win over Hereford at the weekend and has been a consistent performer in Micky Adams' side this season and could be an early contender for player of the year.
