Barnet Preview

Port Vale take on Barnet at home this weekend hoping to pick up their first win since November.
Winter weather conditions last saw the Valiants in action on home soil to Accrington Stanley in the FA Cup and now they will be hoping to cast aside the 1-0 defeat agasinst Morecambe last week that saw them slip to 2nd in League 2.
Micky Adams will hand a late fitness test to defender Gareth Owen who limped away from the seaside with a back injury last week, which will no doubt see a return to Lee Collins who has recovered from shin splints.

Barnet are hoping that striker Izale Mcleod will recover from muscle stiffness which has kept him out of trainig this week but Anwar Uddin and Ricky Holmes look to be included.

There is a pitch inspection at Vale Park at 9am.

Adams linked to Sheffield United Job

Port Vale boss Micky Adams has been linked to the vacant manager's position at Sheffield United. The bookies currently have him down as one of the favourites to take over the position.
Adams, who is a Sheffield admitted when he first took over the reigns at Vale 18 months ago that if the job came up at his hometown club and the one he supported as a child he would express an interest.
The decision will pile pressure on the Vale board who have disgruntled fans in recent weeks by turning down various investment offers and it all came to a head at the club's AGM on Monday evening when 100 supporters gathered outside to protest against the board's latest decision to reject local businessman Mo Chaudry's offer.

Kammy's Christmas Wish

Chris Kamara is appealing to Port Vale fans this Christmas to join him in raising money for Marie Curie Cancer Care – The Official Charity Partner of The Football League for the 2010/11 Season.

As official ambassador for the partnership, Chris Kamara is asking Football League fans to make his dreams come true this Christmas – by joining in his ‘Home or Away’ challenge.

Fans have the choice of the 'home' challenge – cycling from Lands End to John O'Groats - or by joining a team of Football League managers and fans trekking up ‘Kamaramanjaro’ on the away leg.

Both challenges take place in June 2011 and registration forms are now available so don't miss your chance to take part in a once-in-a-lifetime experience...

Chris Kamara said: "My perfect Christmas list would include a fan from every Football League club taking up a challenge and joining me to raise money for this fantastic cause.

"Marie Curie Nurses will be working in every Football League community across the country this Christmas, giving terminally ill people the choice of being looked after at home, surrounded by their family and friends.

“I want to rally as much support across Football League clubs to ensure that Marie Curie can continue to deliver free nursing care to people who want to be looked after at home.

"Will you represent Port Vale and get them to the top of the fundraising league?"

Kamara has backed the partnership in memory of his late mother, who was cared for by Marie Curie nurses at home before she died.

There are many ways Port Vale fans can make a difference this season and help achieve the fundraising goal of £500,000.

For those that can't take up a challenge, why not sponsor Chris Kamara at: www.justgiving.com/Chris-Kamara or to make a £3 donation to Marie Curie Cancer Care text GOAL and your club name to 70300.

Money raised by fans undertaking the challenges will contribute to their club's total in the Marie Curie Fundraising League so supporters will be backing both Marie Curie and their club!
